Key messages of introducing the GTPA into ITE

 

I ran a very short PD for a local school and the initial reaction was if students can do this then they are ready to teach. This is the core business of being a teacher.

What we went from was a concentration on what we were doing locally … to a lifting of our gaze to take in national perspectives and, more importantly, the perspectives of lots of our colleagues around the nation who come at teacher education from unique disparate ways but, now, with a shared understanding of the outcomes that they associate with high quality teacher education.
